2024-25 Speaker Series Recap...

Encore Presentation by Sheldon Boles: Artificial Intelligence in Photography and Competition

November 15, 2024

This was a second ‘live’ presentation on Artificial Intelligence (AI) by Sheldon Boles. It included AI updates since his initial presentation on October 18th, and and was followed by a Q&A. The October 18th panel discussion about entering photo competitions was replayed just prior to Sheldon’s presentation.

Sheldon Boles, CAPA Director of Competitions, discussed the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in photography and image-making, and what is allowed and not allowed for CAPA and the North Shore Challenge 2025 competitions. This was an excellent opportunity for all photographers to learn the latest about this aspect of creating images for competition.

The replay of the panel discussion which preceded Sheldon’s presentation, explored creating and entering images in photo competitions, and what it takes to win, from three different perspectives… individual entrants, clubs that submit images, and judges who decide the winners.
